Alright, already! New Year’s Resolutions.

I’ve done enough yakking about New Year’s resolutions. Enough with the yakking! I’m drafting something concrete right here, right now.

1. Less mommy guilt. You’ve heard me gripe about this topic before. The kids have enough toys, activities, clothes, shoes, socks, food, art supplies, etc. I need to get over the guilt of spending time, energy and money on myself. I’m not talking about going nuts with plastic surgery, a full time nanny and designer purses. I’m talking about getting a haircut more frequently than once every 6 months, letting the house get a little messy while I work on a project that makes me happy, buying a pair of cute shoes every now and then.

2. Work out at least 3 times per week. I want to lose 20 pounds. I want to look decent in a bathing suit. And that means much less candy and sweets. *groan* What’s a chocoholic to do?

3. Don’t let more than 3 days go by between blog postings unless there is an unforeseen emergency or something. Have 2007-2008 blog printed in early 2009. I’ve gotta blog. I might as well use it.

4. Drink 4 bottles of water per day. This equates to 8- 8oz. glasses of water. I know I don’t drink enough water and I want to make a conscious effort to right this. The health and beauty benefits of water are practically limitless. Time for more H2O this year.

I think 4 goals are do-able. Don’t you? I could go on and on with stuff I’d like to accomplish. But let’s be realistic. If I make it to March doing the things I’ve listed above, I’m doing well. I’m not going to set myself up for failure by formulating an exhaustive list of lofty resolutions. Not my style.

I should think about my list too. I know it would have something about prioritizing better (kids and spouse first, ME second, family third, house fourth), less mommy guilt, more scrapbooking/opportunities for being creative, eating and drinking better… more patience… try to get more rest… and more frequent eyebrow waxings! I’m starting to resemble Yosemite Sam!
