A Day of Surprises

1. Guess what finally arrived from The Netherlands?! My Oneye doll that I won in OMSH’s Flickr Heart Contest!!!! Woo hoo! I’m so excited! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Heather! Lily is even cooler in person 🙂 Check out the other awesome creations at the Oneye Shop.

2. This is a little teaser for OneScrappyGal. I finished a page for her son’s album. Hopefully she doesn’t think the colors are too garish. I tried to choose lively, happy colors for him. (I won’t post the rest, OneScrappyGal, you’ll just have to wait!)

3. My uncle, whom I haven’t seen in 10 years, wants to visit me and the boys this afternoon at 3:30 PM. He’s my favorite uncle (my Dad’s brother). I’m looking forward to seeing him again but I don’t want to dredge up any painful memories of my Dad… Wish me luck.

4. My son, Cutie Pie, is still processing my black pearl earring. He swallowed it yesterday… And I’ve been waiting for it to reappear in his diaper. Some surprises are great and some are kind of poopy…

The Horky of the Dork

Do you know that nursery rhyme, The Noble Duke of York? It goes like this:
The noble duke of York, he had ten thousand men
He marched them up the hill
And then he marched them down again
And when you’re up you’re up
And when you’re down, you’re down
And when you’re only half way up
You’re neither up nor down

I sing this tune while giving the kids rides on my legs. It’s pretty entertaining to watch them fly up in the air when I march them up to the top of the hill and zoom them down when the men march down. Wildman loves this game and makes me play it repeatedly. Yesterday, he kept asking me to do “The Horky of the Dork.” It cracked me up every time he said it! And I got quite a leg work out to boot!
