The sky’s been threatening to rain all day. It’s been dark to the west all afternoon. Huge, low-lying, dark gray and deep blue clouds have been building ominously. We could hear the thunder rumbling in the distance for most of the afternoon. But it didn’t rain…
Finally, around dinnertime it began. It’s a nice steady rain that has set in for the evening and probably most of the night. It makes me glad to be cozy, warm and dry at home. The thunder is still rumbling. The kids are fast asleep. The house is quiet except for the sounds of the storm outside. I love nights like this. I think I’m going to curl up in bed with a book.

So jealous. I absolutely love thunder and have only heard it twice since living here. I miss watching storms rolling in. Rain is the best.

I love rainy days too… they are the best when I’m indoors but I don’t mind driving in them either.
My favorite rain/thunder/lightning story is from when I was at my water aerobics class with the octogenerians of Colerain Road. Once they heard the thunder and lightning, they all ran to the side and climbed out of the pool. 🙂
