But He Was Still Hungry…

We made a caterpillar pizza for dinner this evening! J is working late again tonight so the kids and I were on our own for dinner. I didn’t feel like making any of my standby recipes so I let Wildman cook. He had so much fun and felt so proud of himself 🙂

We began by reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle:

Then Wildman rolled the dough to make body segments:

We used veggies to make the face:

Cooking is such a great teaching tool for preschoolers. I love the confidence and creativity it inspires too. Next time we bake I think I’ll try SAJ’s watermelon cookies!

J wanted to work from home in peace (without the television on) last Thursday evening so I went to our local pottery painting place to see what I could create. Bethany inspires me. What can I say? I love her work but I wanted to do something completely different.

Behold! My birthday plate!

It’s in the customer gallery on the pottery shop’s website! I’m so proud. *blushing* To be honest, I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out when it was actually fired.

Here are some other things I’ve been working on.

Needless to say, I’ve been keeping busy with these little projects.

Memorial Day at the Beach

Here are several photos from our day at the beach. And, yes, I’m visibly absent from these photo for a reason. I’m not showing the ‘Net my body in a bathing suit. 🙂
