Cutie Pie the Pissed Off Dragon

J borrowed my camera today so I’m sad that this moment wasn’t captured…  I decided that it was time for Cutie Pie to don his 2008 Halloween costume.  He’s going to be a dragon this year and Wildman will be a knight.  I really want to have professional portraits made of them in their Halloween giddy-ups.  It’s something I’ve done every year since Wildman was a baby.  Part of the portrait process is acclimating the children to the costumes waaaaay in advance.  Wildman was a beast about dressing up when he was younger.  Now, it’s not a big deal at all.  He’s thrilled to wear a knight’s armor and wield a sword.  Cutie Pie was fine last year when I dressed him as a lobster.

If this afternoon was any indication I’m expecting rebellion from him this year.  He was so angry about the dragon costume today.  He hated it.  He sobbed and carried on until I released him from it’s plush, green grips.  Part of the problem came from the ill-fitting dragon head.  Cutie Pie has a massive noggin so his poor head was too big for the dragon hat thingy.  When I secured the chin strap his face was all compressed and it just looked so funny!  I couldn’t help laughing.  I’m going to have to alter the costume or not attached the chin strap next time.  But not before I take a picture 🙂
