What do you do to de-stress?
Do you exercise? While I do exercise it doesn’t exactly relieve me of stress. Probably because I work too hard to get all of the Zumba moves down so I don’t look like the uncoordinated white girl that I am or I’m concentrating on not falling off my step in Step class… For me, exercising is more of a stressor than a way to release tension!
Do you read? I love to read too! It’s a lifelong hobby of mine. While it does offer a nice escape, I usually only manage to read for a few minutes before bed. By that time, I’m so darn tired that I easily drift off without getting much more than a chapter read.
Do you hit the day spa? This would definitely do the trick for me but I have to say that it’s not exactly a financially feasible option. I’m a SAHM these days. Maybe after I return to work and our household income doubles… In the meantime, I try to squeeze in a pedicure when I get the chance but all the gabbing by the nail tech doesn’t really help me to relax.
Do you drink? I enjoy a drink from time to time but it’s not something that I’ve ever considered making a habit. I’ve been known to knock a few back in my day and the “Mommy Needs a Cocktail” stuff cracks me up but it’s not exactly a “healthy” choice. Let’s leave it at that, shall we?
Do you cook? Now, that’s something I can appreciate. I really enjoy cooking but my waistline does not… I’m trying to avoid things that go straight to my butt. Sadly, that’s everything I looooove to make. *sigh* How I love homemade desserts and anything with cheese…
Do you dance naked in your living room to rad 80’s hits? Uh, nevermind. Me neither.
I’ve always found scrapbooking, painting and other crafts to be the things that I most enjoy. Such creative outlets have enabled me to make some pretty cool things for my friends and family while reducing my stress tremendously. And I’ve made some wonderful friends along the way.
You may have noticed that I have a new tab at the top of my page… For the Love of Etsy- Two Scrappy Gals! That’s right, folks. After much discussion this year, my friend, Aileen, and I have decided to open a little shop on Etsy.com as a creative outlet. If you know Aileen you know where the name of the shop came from 🙂
Hop on over and have a look at the fruits of our de-stressing at the new Two Scrappy Gals shop. We’re excited to see it become an actuality after talking about it for so long. Let us know what you think! Suggestions are always welcome!
