We’ve been having ridiculously nice weather here for the last two weeks. A friend e-mailed the other day asking if we would like to join her for a beach day. The boys are always up for getting sandy and salty at the beach. Getting to play with Gator and Baby Gator was an added bonus, so we told her we would definitely be there.
I managed to get the boys up and going pretty early. We were able to run up to the recreation center in the next town to register Wildman for Tot T-ball before meeting up with our friends. This morning it was 75 degrees and glorious. The sun was intense and the breeze was cool. It was perfect beach weather. I felt a little guilty enjoying such a nice day when so much of the country is buried under a mountain of snow. Don’t worry, the guilt was fleeting. I managed to sprawl out on the blanket and let the warmth soak into my skin. It was wonderful.
The kids kept themselves occupied with sand toys…
…and dancing at the water’s edge.
I wouldn’t complain a bit if everyday could be like this.

Oh, I miss going to the beach in January. With all the snow we’re holed up at home with the heater running full blast. Just looking at those pictures makes me warmer.
