Update on the Cement Pond

I’m back!  We’ve been without Internet and cable for a couple of days.  The guys who came to label the buried lines in our backyard were off by 50 feet or so.  They said the cable line ran through the back half of the yard.  Not so much.  It ran right where our pool is being dug.  The good news is that one of the pool workers is also a cable technician.  He came over this afternoon to fix it for us.  Yeah!  We’re back in business.

Soooo, it’s been a mad house around here this week.  Our lovely green grass has become a ginormous mud pit.  J had to add an extra lock to our porch screen door to prevent the boys from walking out and falling down to China.  Because I’m pretty sure I can see China at the bottom of the hole that’s been dug…  Needless to say, Wildman and Cutie Pie have been fascinated by the whole process.

Cutie Pie was in Heaven when this little CAT showed up to haul off our sod.

But it was nothing compared to this thing!

Or this purple dump truck that showed up yesterday and today to haul off the massive amount of dirt that was excavated.

Dirt and and the old, decommissioned septic tank…  We knew when they found the septic tank.  The smell was atrocious!  Ugh!  I’m so glad that thing is gone!

The pool crew was here today too.  I didn’t think they worked on Saturdays but they do.  The process seems to be moving along pretty quickly.  Our pool is taking shape by the hour.  I can see the outline of it and if I squint really hard I can see how it will look when it’s finished.  Very cool!  We’re so excited.
