Punkin Patch

This morning was the preschool field trip to a local pumpkin patch.  We’d never been to this one before so it was a nice treat.

When we arrived Wildman’s teacher gave him a bag containing two lengths of yarn and an activity sheet.  We set out into the patch to do each activity.

  1. Find a pumpkin that is as big as the long piece of yarn
  2. Find a pumpkin that is as big as the small piece of yarn
  3. Find something for sale that is not orange
  4. Find the word “Boo” (luckily I was wearing my Boo shirt today)
  5. Have your picture taken

Wildman and Cutie Pie made quick work of the list.  They really enjoyed trying to find the biggest pumpkin in the patch.  They found a pretty hefty one that they thought we needed to take home.  Good thing I’ve been working out because that thing was heavy!  Of course we had to bring home a bunch of little pumpkins too.

Wildman wants to carve 4 faces into the big pumpkin- happy, scary, surprised and silly.  Then he wants to use the pumpkin innards to make pumpkin pie…  I’ve never used real pumpkin bits to make a pumpkin pie.  I’m a Libby’s canned pumpkin kind of girl…  I suggested just roasting the pumpkin seeds for a snack.  He thought that would be cool but insisted that we still make a fresh pumpkin pie.  Um, I don’t think that will be an easy task.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

My friend and former co-worker, Pam, contacted me last week about their upcoming trip to Orlando.  Her daughter turns the big 5 on October 21st so they headed down here from West Virginia to celebrate.  Luckily, we had a clear schedule on Sunday and were able to drive over to meet them at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The weather finally cooled off here which made the day very enjoyable.  The kids and I were completely comfortable in jeans all day long.  Hooray for fall weather!  J opted for shorts because he’s crazy like that.

It was so nice to see old friends and hang out at the park.  Wildman’s favorite ride was Star Tours.  Cutie Pie enjoyed Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Toy Story Mania.  I must admit that Toy Story Mania was my favorite as well.  J thoroughly enjoyed the live action stunt show.

We stayed to watch the Fantasmic light and firework show then headed home.  Both boys were out like a light on the way home.  Now I’m facing a week without J.  He’ll be in DC all week for work.

I hope this week goes by fast!

Fall Festival Zumba Demo

We did another Zumba demonstration on Saturday at the church where we have classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings.  We focused more on our kids music since we were at a Fall Festival and there were tons of kids running around.  It was a fun afternoon!  We had so many kids come to dance with us.  They loved all of the props from our preschool classes.

I definitely got my workout on Saturday with the two demos!
