We were running low on sweets at our house. If the truth be told, it was more like my sweet tooth was in overdrive… The jar of cookie mix that Mimi gave us at Christmas has been staring me in the face every time I open the pantry. The time had come…
The boys and I broke down and made up the batch of Oatmeal Chocolate Butterscotch Chip Cookies while J was out kiteboarding on Saturday afternoon.
I lost the little instructional card that was tied to the top of the jar so I improvised with what I thought should be mixed with the dry ingredients. I added a stick of softened butter, two eggs and a teaspoon of vanilla.
They were ready for the oven in no time!
Wildman could not wait to try one of the finished cookies. He blew on them to speed up the cooling process. Good thing they are only for our family…
Check out this adorable strawberry cake plate from Pier One. I love it!
The boys enjoyed their yummy cookies while putting together a dinosaur floor puzzle. They worked together to finish the puzzle all by themselves. It’s the first time that Cutie Pie has been able to put a puzzle together without asking me to help.
Big brothers are terrific!
