Zip!

A couple of weeks ago we invited B’s kids over to swim, play on the zip line and have lunch with us.  B had to run a friend’s mom to physical therapy and we were more than happy to have the kiddos over while she was running her errand.

I got quite a workout helping the children zoom across the backyard on the zip line.  There’s no easy way for them to retrieve the handlebar themselves so I wore a path from the kiddie pool at the end of the line to the starting platform.  Whew!  Was it ever hot that day!

I hope to share some photos from a real life zip line through the Costa Rican rain forest soon 🙂

The kids thought it would be fun to add even more water to the experience by shooting each other with water squirters…

I cannot believe that summer is almost over for these guys!  The first day of school is August 9th!

Another Blast Indeed

My friend, B, was the craft lady at her church’s 2010 VBS.  This year’s theme was Baobab Blast.  B was in charge of coming up with all sorts of African-themed craft projects for the children.  She did a great job with her tin can elephants, giraffe masks, monkey picture frames and paper bag trees!  She signed Wildman, T-bone and her kids up for the fun.  Wildman had such a great time.  He’d come home each day to tell me the new bible verse he learned.

Last Friday was the VBS finale music show.  My mom was able to join me and Cutie Pie for the program.  It was adorable!  Wildman did all of the hand signs and knew all of the words to the songs.

B’s church is so tiny and wonderful.  You can read the story of how it was relocated from Fort Pierce to Satellite Beach here.

Playdate Plus Plus

Last Thursday Cutie Pie and I went over to a friend’s house for a play date while Wildman was at his second Vacation Bible School of the summer.  Little did I know that it would be such an extra fun experience for vehicle-loving Cutie Pie.

My friend’s parents were putting in a summer kitchen at their house so she asked us if we’d like to go over to check out the cement mixer.  Was there any doubt?  All of the children excitedly shouted “YES”!!!!  So, we piled the kids into our cars and caravan-ed a few miles down the street.

Check out this view from the backyard!  I’d love to have a riverfront property some day.  I didn’t get a photo of it but they have an amazing view of the Melbourne Causeway.  Perfect for watching the fireworks display on the 4th of July.  You can see the workers on the right (above) pouring the slab for the summer kitchen.

When we got back to our friend’s house, one of the moms offered to take us for a ride in her golf cart.  It was so awesome!  Cutie Pie was in Heaven!

We had a blast cruising up and down the neighborhood.  It was a play date to remember, for sure!
