Friday is my *gulp* 32nd birthday. My mom is hosting a little family party to celebrate both Cutie Pie’s first birthday and also mine. But really it will all be for Cutie Pie which is exactly as it should be! My tiny baby is growing up… I’m excited to see him smash cake all over himself. It’s going to be so messy and fun. I’ll be sure to share some photos of cake-fest.
Wednesday evening is my dedicated scrapbooking time. I get together with Steph and our friend, B, every week. We try to meet at one of our houses around 8-8:30 PM. Wine or some kind of mixed drink is usually involved. And there’s always dessert. We chat, we eat, we drink, we complain, we vent, we gossip, we share, oh, yeah, and we scrapbook. It’s really nice to have this time to be alone with friends. I look forward to Wednesday evenings!
Last night was our scrapbooking night but Steph and B wanted to celebrate my birthday a little early. I was told little about their plans except that I should be ready to leave at exactly 5:30 PM and to dress casual. Hmmmm. Steph had alluded to dinner and a movie earlier in the week so I assumed they had dinner reservations somewhere at 6 PM. J had his mom come over to watch to kids until he got home from work so I could depart at 5:30 sharp.
Instead of 6 PM dinner reservations, they booked a class at The Scrapbook Cottage! Woo hoo! We made the most adorable chipboard book for Valentine’s Day!!! I’ll be sure to post a photo of it. I always wanted to learn how to make chipboard books. It was the perfect surprise! It took us 2 1/2 hours to complete the project. Steph asked what time it was as we were finishing up. When I told her it was 8:30 a look a panic washed over her. “8:30?!”, she exclaimed. That’s when I knew something else was planned 🙂
****UPDATE- Photo added****

Steph got on her cell phone but couldn’t get through to the restaurant. We quickly packed up our stuff, thanked the owner of the store for the class and bolted out the door. Steph kept saying “OMG, OMG, OMG! We had reservations for 8:00 and the restaurant closes at 10. I hope we can still be seated!!!!” It was 9 by the time we got to The Melting Pot. I had no idea they were planning to go there! I love The Melting Pot!!!! Luckily they were able to seat us without a problem. There was only one other party there that night.
I had a wonderful Pomegranate Cosmo. We opted for the cheese fondue, salads and a chocolate fondue for dessert. Even though we decided to forgo the entree, we were stuffed! I need to hit the gym extra hard tomorrow! I had such a great time!!!
