Making the Best of Things

Sorry to keep being all ‘Suzie the Weather Floozie’ on you guys but it’s all I’ve got. Fay consumes us around these parts…

We spent our time next door at the cousins’ house today.

It rained cats and dogs all. day. long. Our sidewalks had vanished by early afternoon and water had risen halfway up the driveways. Big Red waded out into our newly formed river to give us some idea of the depth. What brave soul, that one.

Steph and I tried to make the best of things. We let the babies play in the rain with umbrellas.

We dressed up and harassed the kids.

We watched the rain.

Whatever we did, it sure worked. Cutie Pie fell asleep in his chicken nuggets at dinner and the other boys were in bed by 7 PM. A day of playing without naps makes for an early bedtime! Woo hoo!

Cousin B stole a few bites of Cutie Pie’s meal while he napped. You snooze, you lose!

It’s still raining. School is canceled again tomorrow. *sigh* Luckily the water has receded a bit…

Lakeside and River Front Property

Guess what, guys?! Our home is now lakeside!

And river front…

I somehow doubt that this will increase our property value…

Right now, I’m sitting here listening to more of this:

But it’s dark. TS Fay has pretty much stalled on top of us… I wish J was here. I feel much more secure when he’s here to protect us and take care of us.

Steph and Big Red’s pool was overflowing at 7 PM. I can only imagine what it will look like in the morning.

School is canceled again for tomorrow. I’m anticipating another loooooong day.
